Football Equipment List

One question we frequently get asked is “What equipment is needed to play?” Here is a breakdown of what we provide and what you will need to get before the season starts. 

What we will provide:

• Home and Away Jerseys 

• Home and Away Padded Pants

• Home and Away Game Socks

• Vikings Helmet Stickers

Please note: All jerseys will come with name personalization. We will begin sizing and taking name/ jersey number orders during our summer meet and greets, as well as during the first week of official practice. Returning players get priority on jersey number selection, and late registrations will not get a personalized jersey.

What you need to get:

• Matte black helmet with face mask and chin strap. Only helmets bearing the NOCSAE Seal of Certification may be worn, and “Warning Label” must be in a visible position on the outside of the helmet. If your helmet is 2+ years old, it will need to be re-certified. Helmet rules will be strictly enforced during postseason. 

• Mouth guard with helmet strap/tether (It’s a good idea to have an extra,, as player will not be allowed to play without one)

• Shoulder pads (please bring these to the meet and greet for sizing of jersey)

• Practice jersey (game jerseys should not be worn for practice)

• Padded practice football pants and athletic supporter or compression shorts

• Football (or soccer) cleats -no metal cleats are allowed (plus practice socks)

• Water bottle (long straw or squirt type for ease drinking with helmet on) labeled with your child's name.

• Any eyeglasses worn must have athletically approved non-shattering glass

Optional additional equipment:

• Football Gloves

• Helmet visor/shield (only clear shields are permitted)

• Other protective gear such as padded shirts, arm pads, or rib cage protector
