The Colorado Springs Vikings are 100% run by volunteers and we are always looking for well qualified coaches and volunteers.

Coaching Application*
Colorado Springs Vikings Football and Cheer provides our coaches the opportunity to get the best in youth football and cheer coaching education and development programs available. Coaches will be certified in the Heads Up Football and YCADA program which advances player safety through education and nationally endorsed standards.

Coaching Certifications*
Are coaches required to be "Heads Up" and YCADA certified?
Yes! All Colorado Springs Vikings Football is enrolled in the Heads Up Football program, directed by USA Football, and has Player Safety Coaches.
All of our Football Head and Assistant coaches are Heads Up certified and our Cheer coaches are Youth Cheer and Dance Alliance certified before assuming duties. Once your applications are complete details on how to complete your certifications will be sent to you.
Mandatory Background Checks
Regardless of qualifications, all volunteer applicants must complete and pass the mandatory background checks before being considered for any position. We will email you with details of how to complete your background check after we receive your application.
Colorado Springs Vikings Football and Cheer does not maintain any confidential data submitted during the background check process. All background check results are kept confidential.
Minimum Qualifications for Coaching
To be eligible to coach in Colorado Springs Vikings Football and Cheer program coaches must meet the following criteria:
1. Be in good standing with Colorado Spring Vikings and Pop Warner
2. Meet minimum age requirements: Head Coach (21); Assistant Coach (18)
3. Understand, abide by and sign our Code of Conduct
4. Be currently certified or agree to obtain certifications listed below by position

Head Coach Selection Process
The CSVFC Football and Cheer Commissioners and Board will review all coaching applications, make their initial selections for the head coach openings, and then connect these candidates with an independent 3rd party service to perform the required background check.
Selected candidates who pass the background check will be named as head coaches and will be provided with the names of assistant coaches and other staff position candidates based on the volunteer interests expressed through the player registration process and the remaining coaching volunteer applicant pool.
Approved head coaches will receive non-transferable badges needed for preferred sideline access.
Team Personnel Selection Process
The selected head coaches will submit their team personnel selections to the Football or Cheer Commissioner who will review the candidate list. Once approved the candidates will be connected with an independent 3rd party service to perform the required background check.
The coaching committee will approve the selected candidates who have completed the online application and passed the mandatory background check.
Approved team personnel will receive non-transferable badges needed for sideline access.
